Broadcasting is the conceptualization, creation and distribution of content. Traditionally, the channels to broadcast content were limited to television and radio. These channels are quickly expanding, and the CSB School of Broadcasting curriculum is expanding to stay ahead of the industry. Students will also explore emerging forms of broadcasting and distribution channels, such as podcasting, videocasting and blogging, and learn about distributing their content to sources such as iTunes, YouCastr and YouTube.
As a student of CSB School of Broadcasting, you will have the opportunity to create television programming such as the daily news, live interviews, sports shows and commercials. From the first day of class, you will be immersed in the broadcasting industry with television and radio professionals, cutting-edge equipment, and professional projects. This fully immersive learning environment creates the opportunity for students to make career-long friends and industry contacts, and with our instructors currently working in the industry, students will have a foot in the door to their new career.
The CSB School of Broadcasting curriculum is based on teaching a broadcasting foundation and expanding that knowledge into specialized advanced topics. During the television phase you will learn to write copy with the end goal of creating a news program. These building blocks will lead to careers such as news anchoring, television production and editing. You will learn how to take a television show from initial concept to final product. Students explore the writing and preproduction process. You will have hands-on experience with the equipment including studio cameras, ENG cameras, studio switchers, lighting equipment, editing software and more.
