Kym Gable
For Kym Gable, educating and inspiring comes naturally. Kym's connections with the local media in the Pittsburgh market are extremely valuable at CSB School of Broadcasting where she teaches many of the courses in the TV curriculum. She recently broke away from her full-time career of 13 years as an Anchor/Reporter to explore freelance opportunities in the region. Currently, she works part-time for KDKA, the CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh. She also produces local segments for network shows like Good Morning America, Inside Edition, Cops and The Early Show and hosts "on-demand" programming for Comcast. Several production companies also utilize her expertise to produce and host documentaries, commercials and corporate training videos. Kym also just scored her first big acting gig – playing the role of a mother in a music video that was produced in Pittsburgh.

Kym also branched out to include voice-over work as part of her repertoire. She narrates commercial spots and telephone media advertisements for 2 local companies.

Kym began her career as a Morning Anchor in Zanesville, Ohio, then landed an anchor job in her hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia, at WTOV. FOX News in Pittsburgh hired her in 2000 and she worked there for 6 years.

Kym's pre-school twins keep her busy at home, and when she does have some time for herself, she enjoys practicing martial arts and dance. Her penchant for performing comes from decades on stage as a dancer, actress and singer.

David Cook
David attended Ashland University in Ashland, OH, for radio/television and started out his career in Key West, FL, in 1987 doing overnights and sleeping in his car. He progressed to nighttime CHR radio all over the country until 1995 when he wound up at B94 in Pittsburgh. David started at night and then joined the B94 Morning Show where he stayed until 2004 when he was invited to take over the new 93.7 K-Rock for afternoons. All said and done, CSB School of Broadcasting - Pittsburgh has been, and according to David, continues to be, his home for radio.

Rich Holzer
A chance encounter with a new television facility in his high school started Rich Holzer's career in broadcasting. Taking the knowledge gained through 2 years of broadcasting courses, Rich landed an apprenticeship at a Pittsburgh audio/visual event staging company while completing his Bachelor of Arts degree at Penn State University. After college, he went on to begin his career with Presentation Services as a Senior Audiovisual Technician and later served as an Audiovisual Sales Manager in Chicago, IL. A passion for post-production editing moved him to take a position as a Media Specialist/Avid Editor in the Marketing department of ProSolutions. With the desire to pass on what he learned, Rich joined the CSB School of Broadcasting - Pittsburgh team in the summer of 2007.

As the Campus Coordinator at CSB School of Broadcasting - Pittsburgh, Rich deals directly with the students and the faculty, assuring that both have everything they need to succeed in teaching and becoming the next great broadcasters. Rich's extensive background as an audiovisual technician helps keep the studio running while his previous administrative skills help to keep the Director and Admissions Coordinator up to speed with what is happening in the lecture room.

"It has been a great experience being the first Campus Coordinator for the Pittsburgh campus. Not only do I have the opportunity to be a part of the inauguration of CSB School of Broadcasting in the Pittsburgh area, but I am setting the standard for all those who follow me. It is a real honor and a privilege to be the person who sets the bar, and I hope to leave a lasting impression on the position."

Rich lives in the suburbs of Pittsburgh with his wife and two dogs. He spends time after work engaging in freelance audiovisual/video editing work, and in his free time, he maintains an active lifestyle by participating in adult intramural sports and spending time with his family.

JR Randal
When baseball as a career was not an option, JR Randal's original idea was to cover the game he loved by becoming a baseball announcer. Having spent many a night with his AM radio bedside listening to Ken Coleman and Ned Martin call games for the Boston Red Sox, Mel Allen and Phil Rizzuto with the New York Yankees, Chuck Thompson with the Baltimore Orioles, Bob Prince with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the legendary Ernie Harwell call Tiger games in Detroit, it was what he intended to do for a career. Along the way the plan changed, and JR - still a huge baseball fan - actually fell in love with the radio business. For more than 30 years, JR has either been on air or programming radio stations of various formats. They include Top 40, Adult Contemporary, Alternative, AOR, Triple A and Classic Rock music formats. He has also done talk and sports talk radio and programmed both formats. The journey has taken him from small markets in his home state of Maine to Boston, Hartford, Buffalo, Cleveland, Jacksonville and finally Pittsburgh.

For the past 10 years, JR has been anchoring the morning show on WZPT-FM Star 100.7 Pittsburgh. Now, the newest challenge is to pass on his knowledge of radio in all facets to the students at CSB School of Broadcasting.

Jeff Cech
A work-study job as Assistant to the Music Director at WDUQ is what first brought Jeff Cech into the radio business. A greater interest in the industry led him to become actively involved with Duquesne University's student radio station where he spent time as a DJ, Programming Director and General Manager.

Seeking more experience, Jeff volunteered as a DJ at WYEP and worked in the newsroom at WDUQ. He also had a brief internship with the WDVE morning show. In May of 2007, Jeff completed his M.S. at Duquesne University in Journalism and Media Arts.

Jeff recently took on the role of instructor at CSB School of Broadcasting to help those who are also working to start a career in radio. Currently Jeff is active in the WDUQ newsroom where he produces local news stories and eats cookies. In his spare time, Jeff works patching leaky roofs and mending that which is broken. Jeff is a member of a small bear wrestling cult.

Dan Kuniak
Dan has over 25 years of television broadcast experience both in front of and behind the camera. First as a Designer, Grip and Audio Tech for a very successful Pittsburgh television production company that focused on training and industrial videos, and the remaining 20+ years as a Production Designer and Artist for the NBC affiliate WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh. Dan has experience in television news production, set design, lighting and various computer platforms used in broadcasting, and he holds several international awards in broadcast design excellence.

Currently, Dan is a television instructor for CSB School of Broadcasting - Pittsburgh, with a particular focus on the on-air aspects of the industry, and is the owner of the Pittsburgh-based "spellbound group" that creates and designs motivational and entertaining events and presentations for business and education.

In his free time, Dan hangs out with his dachshund pup Peanut, who he claims he is training for military attack and espionage purposes.

Colin Sheehy
A recent film school graduate from the prestigious Chapman University, Colin Sheehy now spends all of his time freelancing on movies and commercials in the Camera department as a Union Camera Assistant. This is Colin's editorial teaching debut; however, he tips his hat to those who helped him learn Avid. He claims his success has come from tedious hours in the cutting room at home, learning the specifics of Avid editing software on his laptop. Colin continues to pursue his love for film in Pittsburgh, where he has been applying his world-class education on all his shoots. Colin started CTS Films so that he may put his well-rounded knowledge of film production to work in the industry.

At CSB School of Broadcasting, Colin will be teaching the Avid editing system to all students in the night sessions. CSB School of Broadcasting has supplied the right tools for creating a wonderful example of how to edit awesome pieces. From the first editing class to the last, Colin will help clarify the non-linear editing techniques that it takes to make cutting-edge videos.

Colin has been married to his wife Christy for four years, and they have two dogs that get much of their attention. When Colin is not involved in production, he likes to make music and run.

Joe Reinhart
Joe has been a Broadcast Engineer since 1999, working at WKBN-TV in Youngstown, WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh and FSN Pittsburgh. Joe has helped build several studio installations and transition stations to digital broadcasting. He also spent several years as a part-time Sports Videographer at WJAC-TV in Johnstown, PA, covering high school and college sporting events, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers. George can now be heard as the Morning Show Host at WGSM SAM-FM 107.1 in Greensburg, PA.

Brandon "DJ Bonics" Glova
Brandon is the Evening Host for Pittsburgh's WKST 96.1 Kiss. He is a Philadelphia native who found himself on the west side of the state when he enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh in 1998. He had his first taste of radio at Pitt's WPTS 92.1 where he eventually took up roles as Program Director and Station Manager. He also hosted his own underground hip-hop radio program. In 2000, he obtained a production and promotion internship with 106.7 WAMO. This later led him to a Board Operator and Production Assistant position with WAMO. During this time he also learned the art of mixing and turntablism. In 2002, Brandon was hired as a Marketing Assistant with Live Nation (then known as Clear Channel Entertainment).

In 2004, he was offered a club mixing position with 96.1 Kiss. Shortly after he found himself as Night Jock and since then has been keeping the 'Burgh fresh with hit music! Brandon also is the Assistant Production Director, and his voice may be heard on many of the commercials and promos on 96.1 Kiss. Brandon also hosts many clubs, events and remotes in and around the city.

Although having spent only a seemingly few short years in a major market, Brandon considers himself an expert on being himself on the radio and says, "I feel like I take a new-school approach to an old industry."

He not only can be heard Monday-Friday on 96.1 Kiss, but is also an active Pittsburgher. This past summer he was honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as one of "Pittsburgh's 50 Finest." Bonics is also one of the city's premiere mixologists. He's shared the stage with artists like Snoop Dogg, Dave Chapelle and Ludacris. He also recently filmed a cameo appearance in a soon-to-be-released film, The Bridge to Nowhere, directed by Blair Underwood.

Ralph Hamilton
Ralph's interest in broadcasting began while pursuing his undergraduate degree at Gannon University. Time between classes and football practices was spent exhaustively analyzing the inability of Barry Bonds to throw out a hobbling Sid Bream at home plate or the importance of The Smiths to the emerging college alternative radio format. Upon completion of his studies, Ralph relocated to the state of Montana to continue his football career and begin a successful career advising a Fortune 500 company.

Ralph came to CSB School of Broadcasting in Pittsburgh for the same reasons that most of our students enroll at CSB School of Broadcasting: to work in a fun and dynamic industry at a job that he loves.

"The advantages the students have by attending CSB School of Broadcasting are above and beyond anything I would have expected. As Admissions Director, assisting students in their career goals is both fulfilling and exciting. I have a vested interest in each student's career and look forward to watching them excel professionally."

Ralph lives in Edgewood with his wife Jennifer, daughter Emerson and yellow Lab, Seamus. You can find him most summer evenings at PNC Park rooting on his beloved Pirate baseball team.
